Where did Plushgun come from? The band was started by Daniel Ingala in the cramped confines of his overpriced and undersized bedroom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. While writing a song on his acoustic guitar, Daniel had an idea: “What if I added some synths to this?” And synths he added, creating a song called “Just Impolite”, which he posted to his Myspace page in early 2007. Within months, through word of mouth, the project spread from one fan to another until it was heard by RagTag Productions, who approached Daniel about using his music in their popular web-tv series, “We Need Girlfriends.” Dan also posted a few songs on OurStage.com, which enables music fans to discover emerging music and rate the music. Plushgun quickly hit #1 on OurStage’s Alternative Rock channel in January 2008.

After writing “Just Impolite,” Ingala found himself needing a band name. For this he asked the advice of Stephen Colbert, before the taping of an episode of the Colbert Report. Colbert suggested “The Relevant Elephants.” And by that he meant “Plushgun.”

When people started to demand live shows, Dan was scared. It was just him and a computer, and computers tend to be terrible showmen. So he asked for help from past acquaintance, guitarist, and showman extraordinaire Taylor Armstrong to bring this project to the live stage, and the fans who’ve caught these live shows are still dancing!

How to describe Plushgun? The songs are nostalgic, poppy, dance-able, and surprisingly deep, not to mention addictive. Whether they are about chasing dying romances (”Just Impolite”), high-school anxiety (”How We Roll”) or angst-riddled anthems for a lost generation (”Dancing in a Minefield,”) Plushgun tackles these themes with unabashed catchiness in an electrolicious soundscape.

Look for Plushgun’s debut album in January 2009. In the meantime, the 4 songs you hold in your hand will be released digitally on August 19, followed by a video for “Just Impolite” directed by Tyler Shields. But, if you can’t wait until September, you can check out the first video for “Just Impolite” featuring a brawl between Tyler Shields and Rainn Wilson here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld-YqPs2m3U

Following the strong response to the posse track “3rd Degree” and the new street leak “Da Livest”, Nino Bless sets out to release the long-anticipated street-LP, Untold Scriptures, on 5-20-08. “I have notable veterans of the game helping me push this project, including Big Mike, Mick Boogie, & J Love.” The street-LP runs 19 tracks deep with features from Styles P, Joe Budden, Kool G Rap, Saigon, Crooked I, Joell Ortiz & Grafh. Original production from Focus (Aftermath), Scram Jones, Veterano, & Blackout Movement sets the backdrop for the mixtape for the Puerto Rican MC out of Brooklyn, NY.

“I put this together like an album with 19 joints – and the majority of them are full length records,” Bless says. “So far, the response has been dope. At this moment I have to keep it going and I think this is a good representation of what I can bring to the table.” However, Nino isn’t stopping with Untold Scriptures as he plans to release another project at the end of this year. “Crooked I and myself are setting up to drop a mixtape towards the end of the year. Dow Jones from The Bizness is going to chip in with some beats and help put the project together along with somebody else; we ain’t sure who yet but it’ll be from the east coast.”

With all these things in the works things are looking good for this young prospect. Untold Scriptures will be online for free on May 20th and there will be a “Limited Edition” version which will be sold through many outlets, both in stores and digitally; and for the fans that want to support the music now you can buy records on www.beatsource.com.
